Screencasting for IMPACT

This week I am in Munich at the IMPACT project (improving Access to Text) all-staff meeting.

My colleague Ed Bremner and I have a busy couple of days. We are running three sessions. Each are a mixture of presentations and facilitated discussion. Although most of the session content is very project specific one will be looking at Open Educational Resources and our efforts so far to create Xerte learning modules. Xerte is a suite of open source tools for elearning developers and content authors producing interactive learning materials. During the session we hope to be able to introduce the idea of screencasting and we have created a Prezi presentation on why people should make screencasts and the dos and don’ts of doing so. A lot of the content is based on the recent JISC Digital Media series of online workshops on screencasting.

The presentation is a good introduction, whether you are working on the IMPACT project or not. Credit really goes to Ed who did pretty much all the work on creating it!
