Thanks for your post; I'm not quite used to the attention from a wider circle. As part of the motivation was to raise the profile of remote working to employers, I'm happy about the publicity. It feels like a small contribution that is part of a growing movement.

Today I am at my desk in North Wales, collaborating with colleagues on developing a fresh online induction area for new students due to start next week. I've greeted my colleagues in Liverpool, Newry, Chelmsford and Spain; had my first coffee; taken a phone call from another lecturer about the new university VLE; followed news from friends in New Zealand on Twitter (earthquake impact) and checked my mail. In the (now distant, pre-2001) past, the working day would have been started by commuting to work, so already I have been a bit Green.

So far for work today I've used FirstClass, Twitter, Posterous and SharePoint. I also have a longer document from a student printed out, so I'll get on with that now and pop back here later.
